ENGRAVING

From the beginning of time man has always wanted to make his mark on something, from cave painting to masterpieces in oil and canvas. Engraving is just one way that any item can be personalised. In the trophy and engraving industry, these are the most common ways of personalising your items. It may be just your initials, your name or a commemorative plaque that is needed. Each item will be handled in a unique way

Hand Engraving

Hand engraving is now used to engrave small items of jewellery, (rings, watches, bracelets etc). It is also used to engrave older
perpetual trophies that were purchased prior to the advent of computerised engraving machines.

Computer Engraving

The majority of trophy shops engrave their trophy plates with a computer engraver. It is quick and cost effective. At Trophy Specialists, we have several of these machines and we only use multi line engraving so as to give you the best and most readable job. Computer engravers are also used to engrave on brass plates for the outside of buildings or the official opening of buildings or companies. We also engrave on a wide range of plastic materials, many of which look like metal but are a less expensive alternative.

Laser Engraving

For fine intricate work, nothing beats a laser engraver. Logos and very small print are a breeze for this machine. We currently have one of the latest machines available and we can engrave on glass, leather, plastic, acrylic, stainless steel, wood, etc.
With the introduction of the laser engraver, we can cut wood and acrylic into intricate shapes and then apply text or logos to the surface, making the production of special and corporate awards cost effective and quick.

Sublimation

Sublimation has been around for many years and is a method of marking metal and clothing with an ink that cannot be removed. In its infancy, sublimation was mainly used as an alternative to engraving, with the added advantage that you could apply spot colours to the text or logo. Its big advantage is that, unlike silk screening, there are no expensive set-up costs and a one-off item is its major selling point.

Modern technology has again taken over and full photo quality prints are now possible. The list of items that can be sublimated is growing daily.

GOLD LETTERING

22ct Gold Lettering:

22ct gold lettering is applied to an honour board by a sign writer. It is very skilfully applied and looks sensational. If you have a board that has been sign written in this manner, you need an expert to add the next year and name. All of our 22ct work is done inhouse, so you know the job will be good.

Vinyl Lettering

Shields & honour boards are often lettered using gold or coloured vinyl lettering. Our in house Art Department can add names to your existing honour boards and shields or we can design and reproduce the lettering for you on the new board we are making for you. Remember, everything is done in the same building, saving you time and guaranteeing the quality.

FRAMING / BLOCK MOUNTING

In this modern age of collectables and memorabilia, framing and block mounting is becoming an essential part of the awards industry.

Block Mounting

Posters from sports events or concerts can be block mounted. If it is signed, it can be a valuable acquisition.

Framing Jumpers

Sports apparel is becoming a great collectors item and if it is signed then its value multiplies many times. In the right frame, it becomes a major talking point around the bar or in the study. Add to the frame a superbly engraved plate with all the details of the event and you have an outstanding item of memorabilia.

Sports Memorabilia

Gloves, Shoes, Balls, Hats, Caps, Bats, Wickets. The list of the sporting items that can be framed or mounted is endless. Be sure and get the item signed as it will grow in value. Add a superbly engraved plate and you have items that are individual and personal.
